Live in manager

Su Lyn is a former overseas student from Malaysia who studied Chemical Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Melbourne. She has been the live in manager of the house from its inception.

Su Lyn is uniquely qualified to manage accommodation of this type having previous experience running another large student accommodation centre in Carlton. Her background as a former overseas student with over 15 years residency in Melbourne and now working as a professional engineer advising one of Australia’s largest law firms on patent issues puts her in a unique position to understand the needs of students new to this country and professionals alike looking for conveniently located accommodation near the city.

Her caring and empathetic attitude makes residents instantly feel at home, and she also gets things done and matters resolved with a minimum of fuss. Parents sending their children overseas to study in Melbourne can rest assured in the knowledge that Su Lyn will guide their children much like an older sister would because she has “been there and done that” and in many instances shares a common background.

Su Lyn’s responsibilities range from ensuring that the House never run out of consumables, to helping new residents settle in and helping them overcome their shyness or homesickness. She has been described as a "pocket dynamo" through her tireless efforts to make living at The Queensberry St House a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all its residents.

On arrival Su Lyn provides each resident with the House Rules which are designed to ensure that the House is kept clean and tidy, and that the environment is always conducive to the study and relaxation needs of the residents

Maintenance manager

Our maintenance manager, Savana, is responsible for keeping all the common areas clean and fresh.

Savana visits every Thursday to ensure that the high level of cleanliness is maintained week in week out. Be sure to say "Hi" to her, and you’ll be warmed by her friendly nature towards her extended family at the House
